Lincoln has long been known as the company that produced the uber luxe Navigator, which proved to be a huge success with the jetset crowd. However, there always was a market looking for a smaller, yet still refined ride within the SUV segment. So naturally Lincoln came up with the MKC. It is a vehicle that is replete in luxury and small, intimate details that make for a thoroughly enjoyable ride.
With a new design for the 2019 MKC, Lincoln has taken this vehicle to another level of luxury. The front end has large front grill that matches other Lincoln cars and the reshaped LED headlights make the car a bit more in line with cars of a certain caliber. Overall, the paint choices are plenty and even more so when you go the Black Label route!
I had the chance to drive all around LA with a new MKC and the experience was grand. Getting into the vehicle, away from the bustling sounds of downtown Los Angeles, I was at once ensconced inside a quiet and warm place. The natural leathers and woods that surrounded me, made me feel at home and safe. Those on the outside of the car were also just as safe, for Lincoln has new driver focused tech like automatic emergency braking and pedestrian collision avoidance.
Available with 2 different turbo four cylinder engines and front or all-wheel drive, the MKC cannot be ordered in an ill-fitting configuration. And though the MKC is much smaller than the Navigator, it doesn’t feel like it. Me and my driving companion were both smitten with the size of the vehicle and the abundance of room it has. Lincoln, it seems, has managed to make the very most room of every square inch of space. Oftentimes, vehicles feel cramped or either the front passengers suffer for back passenger room. This is simply not the case with the MKC. There is plenty of room for everyone.
And before you think that the MKC drives like a truck, think again. The vehicle is agile, quick and perfectly suited for any driving situation. Whether you want to coast in quiet luxury along the Pacific coast or you need to get to an appointment across town, the MKC has your back. Inside there are also USB drives placed where you need them the most and 4 G LTE WiFi for up to 10 devices, along with connecting to Amazon’s Alexa and traffic guru app Waze.
I had supreme fun in the MKC and though others may complain that the 2019 model doesn’t have a lot of changes from previous years, I say who cares? When you have achieved perfection, where else is there to go? Lincoln sure has another winner on their hands and with a price point starting at a scant $33,000, I don’t see why everyone isn’t in an MKC already. The 2019 Lincoln MKC has everything you want and nothing you don’t. Lincoln has trimmed the fat and has left you with the juiciest bits of a vehicle. The only thing left to do of course is to get yourself to a Lincoln dealership. Then again, Lincoln has pick up and delivery service for 2019 owners and you can set an appointment without every leaving your home. You see, Lincoln has thought of everything!
