Snobs everywhere know that driving a supercar everyday is not only a hassle, but a liability. With roads being in an ever increasingly poor state and pot holes the size of a house, supercars and their low profile tires (read: expensive) are in peril of being destroyed. This of course is the very drawback of owning such a fast set of wheels. Thankfully, Chevorlet has a special edition SUV that can handle whatever you throw at it, all while being plush with luxury amenities. What car is it you ask? Well, the 2018 Tahoe RST naturally!
As the pinnacle of what you can get in a Tahoe, the RST is a feast for the senses. Sporting a monster V-8 engine that boasts 6.2 liters of raw grunt, the RST while not thrifty on gas, is a towing capable beast that is neither obnoxious or weak. This, combined to a 10 speed automatic transmission, makes for a pleasantly smooth ride. As I journeyed throughout my week, I kept noticing that the powerful engine was urging me to mash the go pedal. I kindly obliged and the Tahoe moved with a fervor and glee that I am only used to in sports cars. And yet, all around me was a large vehicle that could effortlessly tow 9,000lbs of other luxury fun.
What makes the RST different from its economy brothers is that it comes equipped in a midnight, murdered out, all black everything profile. And I have to say that it is slick! In addition, the RST offers 4-wheel drive, 20 inch blacked out wheels, blacked out grill, side steps, windows, roof rack and more. If that wasn’t enough, there is not so subtle badging on the sides that say RST, just to make sure road peasants know that your SUV is not a run of the mill charade.
Moving to the inside of the Tahoe, the RST features a Blu-Ray /DVD rear seat entertainment system for those five passengers lucky enough to lounge around. There is also navigation, a power sunroof, keyless entry with push button start, heated second row power-release 60/40 split-bench seats, outside heated power-adjustable, power-folding mirrors, power-fold third row 60/40 split-bench seat, memory power tilt-and-telescopic steering column and heated steering wheel, wireless charging, hands free power liftgate, fog lamps, front and Rear Park Assist, rear Cross Traffic Alert and Side Blind Zone Alert, just name a few!!!
Suffice it to say, the RST special edition Tahoe is not for the shallow pocketed individual. Chevy knows this and has made this car for the exacting standards of us snobs. It is always the perfect time to drive a Tahoe RST and one would be remiss to think that driving it is a downgrade. Chevy has packed this car full of features and luxuries that will make anyone want for nothing more. Indeed, while I had the car there was not a day that I could think of where the RST disappointed me. It is simply built with luxury as its ultimate pursuit. Chevy naturally had to add their own bit of charm and from my experience, that comes in around 1,500rpms! Enjoy!
